When I can't sing

This song is beautiful and meaningful. I usually don't like JYP's stuff but this one is good. undeniably good. I'm glad that se7en got this song as it was originally for Son Ho Young. The lyrics show how insecure a world star can be. When se7en sings it, it is full of emotion. I can feel the pain he felt. The same thing happen when Tablo sing. I guess singer really need experience to convey the feeling of their songs in the right way.

and this is only my thought. Please don't take it personally.
When Se7en leaves the stage for GD, I can't help but to feel that this particular scene hold a deeper hidden message. It's like he is trying to tell that his junior is slowly replacing him. This is a sad truth. Big Bang is slowly taking over his place. He was the prince of k-pop that stands high among fans but now, thousands of his fans left after knowing that he is a human who needs to love and being love. It's a shame that he is Big Bang's mentor, the guy who GD most scared of but his popularity is slowly fading away.

I will still stand by your side, Choi Dong Wook. Even when you can't sing anymore :D

It feels like yesterday when I heard my girl friend said publicly in class, ‘pakai tudung tu wajib ke?’ I cursed at her a lot that day. We were 11 that time. I think that pretty much answer why she didn’t wear tudung at that time; she doesn’t know the rule or more accurately she doesn’t CARE.

11 for me that time is a really matured age but now, for me, 11 is the age where kids still go around playing, lying to their moms that they have perform their duty to Allah, goes to school wearing tudung but trying so hard to make it as small as possible.

Last week when I signed in to facebook, I saw the same girl post about Muslim girls and why they don’t wear tudung and she also advised one of her free-haired friend to wear one. I smiled. My facebook newsfeed now is filled with Islamic statuses. Whenever someone post about Islam s/he is most likely to have dozens of likes.
Also, there is this guy from my class, vowing that he will not ‘like’ any girl’s picture that did not cover up properly when in fact he was the one who frequently ‘like’ cute girls’ pictures and sometimes sweet talk them. His twitter which used to be the place where he talks with random girl is now becoming a place where he post about global news, religion information and such. I cannot believe that is the same guy who just last month lied to my face saying he already performed his Dhuhr prayer.

It was a 4 days and 3 nights trip. In a nutshell, the trip was fun and I have to admit I miss those kids already. They were fun lots.

Lepas balik tu I showed my dad the official photo from the event. My dad pointed at the photo and said, "kamu tak kenal yang ini?" I thought he was talking about the old guy at the back so I just shook my head. "ini kan sedara bapak tu. tak ingat? ape tu nama dia....na..na? nini?..ala bapak tak ingat la" Okay that was an epic fail. How can I forgot my own relatives? I was with her for the whole trip and yet I can't recognize her?! ohhh great piqa, great!

Like seriously, it was in freaking MAY! and now we are in OCTOBER!! Please mind that G-Dragon is like the most famous idol. If he was caught smoking marijuana, then why wouldn't the news spread in May? He is the biggest issue since '07/'09(or maybe '88) afterall. Well, let me tell you this, BECAUSE HE IS A FREAKING SCAPEGOAT! People used him to cover the hundred politicians who had been caught gambling in a casino during working hours using their corporation credit cards.

What scare me the most when I first read the news was the kvips reaction. Everybody know Kvips had some issue with YG late last month and I remember Kvips threatened YG to promote GD right for his comeback. Free from scandal, free from accusation, etc and now, even before his comeback date being released, this whole marijuana thing came.

Alright back to GD being scapegoat, it shocked me how negatively the netizen reacts. Like seriously, that is your freaking country. Your freaking leaders is playing with your mind. Don't blame me if I say that these netizens actually don't have anything better to do other than hanging around in nate-pann and whining. Please just please use your freaking brain once in a while. Don't just follow one's lead and believe what you read from unreliable source 100%. Go and do some research!

Detractors, and perhaps even some supporters, argue that many idol stars are not truly “musical artists,” since many can neither read nor write music. The term “entertainer” is often used to label these actors, dancers, MCs, and product spokespeople – who also happen to be able to sing. Although the amount of singing each K-pop star contributes is sometimes questionable. For example, Super Junior has thirteen members and Girls’ Generation has nine – I often wonder how much singing an individual member gets to do in a three-minute song. And being auto-tuned and quietly mixed into the chorus doesn’t count
Ten to 12-hour work days, seven days a week – that is the life of a K-pop star-in-training. Of course, the honor of even getting to this level is afforded only to a select few.

I asked the group to describe a typical day, and Kevin (a San Francisco native whose somewhat feminine features marked him as the band’s requisite “pretty boy”) filled me in: two hours of exercise in the morning, four hours of dance and choreography classes, two hours of vocal training, and two additional hours for review and language studies. This was their 24-7 schedule – and is in addition to busy days on the road touring, appearing on television programs, or recording music.

the band’s “tough guy” Eli added that, “[We] can’t go out whenever we want…[I]f you’re hanging out at night and you go out and someone sees you, or it could be someone from a different company, [they could ask] why’s he around playing like that and then it gets all…” Eli made a strangling sound, indicating that even innocent behavior could come back and cause a big headache for the company.

And what was that next step?

Alexander, on the other hand, gave a different answer:

“I’d like to continue my education. Seriously, it’s true that entertainers have to learn everything. You can’t only sing and dance, you have to act and MC [as well] because Korea’s so competitive. But I don’t think this can go long term.”

“You can be, like, the top, and all of a sudden, one little mistake, and you can be down here,” agreed Eli.
“Not even a mistake,” said Alexander softly. “As time goes by…”
Alexander’s voice trailed off, and I wondered what it must be like to know your dreams had an expiration date. I also wondered if sacrificing one’s youth – the only years of your life when being stupid and immature could create your most treasured memories – was worth a reward that may not even be attainable.

The trend toward a more naturalistic and approachable depiction of idol stars, according to Isak (a former member of SM's unsuccessful duo, Isak N Jiyeon), is a positive one, and she heaped a great deal of praise on 2NE1, a four-member girl group represented by YG Entertainment:
“I don’t think 2NE1 is the typical Korean pretty girl,” said Isak. “I think they’re the most beautiful girls in the world because they don’t have double eyelids; because they don’t have noses that hit the ceiling; because they don’t have that “entertainer” look that people have grown accustomed to.”

“They [the management companies] promise before you debut, ‘we’re going to house you, we’re going to feed you, we’re going to give you all the lessons you need. Do your best’ and then we think that that’s all free,” remembered Isak. She soon learned, however, that all the expenses that went into her upkeep, including stylists, salon visits, manager fees, food, and clothing, were deducted from her pay.

Young Kim, host of the Arirang Radio program “K-pop Zone” and former rapper for such groups as S#arp and Uptown in the late 1990s, noted just how little money one could make, even as a member of relatively successful groups: “I made about three thousand dollars in the seven months that I was promoting the [S#arp] album.”
There are big risks at stake for those investing in idol groups. These risks did not go unnoticed by Isak who understood her previous lack of freedom, stating that, “[We] are products. I know it sounds very bad, but we are products, and that’s why our companies…sometimes treat us like products.”

However, for all the financial risks the companies bear, perhaps the biggest gambles are still those taken by the talent in sacrificing their youth to achieve national or even international stardom. As D-Lite (Daesung Kang) of Big Bang put it, sacrificing “common things in life that we liked – walking around the streets, time to hang out with old friends, etc…” was something he knew he’d have to do. Every idol star has gone into the K-pop game knowing the cost of fame. Behind the bright lights and their big smiles hides another truth, which D-Lite voiced in simple terms: “We all knew that we had to let it [their former lives] go when we decided to [join] Big Bang but, honestly, sometimes it’s tough on me.”

As I pondered the pressures of surviving in a shrinking Korean music market, I could only think, “It’s tough all around, kid.”

People always seem to bash her because of plastic surgery. But let me tell you a story. Let me take you back about 5 years ago when she featured in Bigbang’s We Belong Together. When the song was first released, many people praised her for very good vocals but when the music video came out, everyone bashed her because they said she’s ‘UGLY’ ‘FAT’ and ‘GD OPPA AND TOP OPPA WOULD NEVER LIKE HER’. After all the bashing, she was featured in Samsung Anycall CF with Lee Hyori alowing people to bash her more. Even my friends bashed her. I also bashed her- not because ‘SHE’s TOO UGLY TO BE NEXT TO HYORI’ but because she wasn’t the same girl I saw in We Belong Together. People still called her ugly though I think she’s very beautiful. They even went as far as that which made her close her cyworld account.

When 2ne1 debuted in 2009, I felt very, very, VERY guilty because people say she’s the ‘plastic queen’ without even knowing what really happened. She was judged, bullied and she lost her confidence. It destroyed her self-esteem. I wish people would just understand that judging someone without knowing them really hurts. I bet people who judge someone never experienced how hard and how painful it is to get bullied without even trying to know who they really are.

If I was heavily bullied like that, I would also get plastic surgery so I will ‘fit in’ and not get bashed.
Well, those ‘judgmental people’ are probably THAT perfect for bashing people who just wants to follow their dreams. They can’t stand that some people are higher than them. BUT GUESS WHAT. Whatever you say will mean NOTHING because we love BOM and she will FOREVER be BEAUTIFUL.

WORDS. I can't imagine just how much she has to go through. Well let me take you to what happen years back then too.

Park Bom's mom is always against her dream to become a singer. Even when Bom got call from a very famous singer, she refuse to let Bom become one and ask Bom if she is out of her mind. She went to Berklee College of Music secretly. Shen then made up her mind to become a singer in Korea. It was a now or never chance for her. Shen then auditioned for YG but was rejected. She work hard for a year and auditioned again, and again she was rejected and work hard for a year again and rejected again. After 3 years of hard work, she got accepted in YG because YG thought her determination is inspiring.

She trained for almost 4 years and what did she get? harsh criticism saying she sings like a breathless pig, fat, ugly, slut and plastic bitch. What makes me even more sad is that it's not just antis on the net who said stuffs like that, but so are the people around me. I'm not her but I feel ashamed and frustrated. Then imagine how Park Bom herself feels?

When Ugly was released, antis strike again saying how much she is not in the place to sing the song. Guys, come on, that's the whole point of Teddy making the song. He wants to tell the world what girls want to but don't have the guts to.

Few days ago I dreamed that I got to meet Block B at Times Square. Nobody recognize them ~~because Malaysia only loves Super Junior and SS501~~. They were wearing their casual clothes. B-bomb with his v-neck white tee, P.O with his glasses and perm, U-kwon with his cap, Kyung with his cap and glasses.That's all I can remember. They were at the food court eating when I went to them. They looked pretty stunned that I actually recognize them. I asked for their autograph and went to search for pen in my backpack but I didn't have any paper. I thought about letting them sign on my math book but having cg. nadia face in my mind I didn't let that happen. I went to ask for tissue from the stalls but none of them got tissue. I just took photographs with them instead. As usual Block B posed with their derp pose and face. I did the same. I always make derp face in my selca afterall. I went to chat with them for a bit. Kyung asked who is my bias in Block B. At that moment I was having a big crush for Zico after I saw his performance but I know just how frustrate Block B were when their fans frequently said they like Zico the most. So, I lied. I told them I knew Kyung first but my bias is P.O. P.O then did his signature hand gesture to me. I asked U-kwon to sing me 10cm's song. His voice was so calm and idk, soothing? I recorded his singing in my mp3 because I want to hear them again as my lullaby. I then asked Kyung whether he really has a tumblr. but then I woke up.

That's my name given by my brother but when I was little, I thought my name was Piqa which everyone called me at that time. I'm the fourth of five. Two brothers and same amount of sister. I went to one of the best elementary school in Malaysia right now. I was in a special class. Special doesn't mean I'm slow or anything that came to your mind, it's just that I took Arabic. Having studied Arabic 6 years in both agama and kebangsaan school, I still have yet to achieve A in the subject. Which led me not to take the subject in my high school yet I still have to study them for my SDEA exam.

I once being called by my teacher for writing housewife as my ambition. I told my sister about that. I wouldn't tell her if I knew she was going to tell my mom later. The news travel fast. The next thing I know, my grandma and aunt were all making a big fuss out of it. So, my current goal now is to actually find what I want to be in life later.

I always like band music. Simple plan, boys like girls, mcfly, my chemical romance, the click five, etc. Until one day I found out about Wonder Bang. My musical taste take a 360 degree turn. Yes, I was a Wonder Girl fan in which I never like to admit because in my opinion now, they suck so bad. Being a YG-family fan, hip hop is my best buddy. I like T.I then he went to jail. I like Kanye West then he got boycotted. I like Lil' wayne then he also went to jail. Safe choice, I crawl back to my K-pop hole. Being a Block B fan on the other hand introduce me to K-hip hop. Hanhae, Bang Yong Guk, Verbal Jint, Seoul Connection, Masta Wu is just to name a few. I realize that downloading mixtapes are more comfortable because I know I didn't steal anything :P

Fashion is my soul, football is my world.

I always love fashion since I was a kid. I believe I'm a very feminine girl. Others can't really figure this side of me, weird. Givenchy, Balmain, Jeremy Scott, Human Potential are some of my favourite brands. If you ask about my fashion inspiration, I'd say Nuthang. Dayumm, those guys and girls can wear anything. Even when they wear something like apek in the market selling pirate cd, nobody dares to call them ugly. I never know what the current trend is nor do I give a damn about it.I used to like Arsenal until some bs happen and they now pull a Liverpool. So now I guess I like Barcelona? I mean, I always love Pique and Fabregas is the reason I'm a gunner. so yeah, maybe I'm a Barcelona fan now. I never went gaga for the random guys in my school. I'll choose Jack Wilshere over them any day. For some reason, my interest in football has now decreases. Maybe because I'm now in a new school where girls don't watch football(except Aqilah, of course).

When I was a kid I always told myself I don't like Barbie when in fact I REALLY love them. I do that because I know my mom will never buy me anything Barbie. So yeah, it practically work back then. Now, when I'm old enough, I realize my mom actually has nothing against Barbie. When I ask her to buy me anything Barbie she buys them for me. In fact, last year, I told her that I want Barbie stuffs for school and she actually help me to search for them EVERYWHERE! I learnt that all we have to do is ask nicely for everything. I guess you should know by now that I never ask for anything nicely from my mom when I was a kid.

Kim Ji Hye catch fame during I Need A Girl era. I personally think she is the lead of YG's dancer fame. I mean, before kwon twins, 'facial-haired guy' or 'purple-haired girl' people only care about 'Taeyang's partner'.

One thing I like about her is that her face is not the typical Korean face. She doesn't even look like Korean! Her beauty shines in its own way. She is the best Crazy dancer and that's undeniable (actually all Crazy is good. There won't be anybody who is the 'best' :P)

In an interview Jihye said she know Taeyang since he was little so, it is impossible for them to date. Whatever, I'd still ship them.

After watching Big Bang goodbye stage, I realize there are 2 'new' (or maybe just underexposed) dancers to replace Jungheon and Sungmin who I guess follow se7en for his tour. Se7en came to Malaysia yesterday (which I didn't go obviously)

Moves, not as slick as cheoljun and not as emotional as deukkie. Looks, fine totally fit for hi-tech. I have yet to see them in everyday clothe so I don't touch their 'look' much but one of them (the first one) looks totally like Nas-T. It is not anywhere bad I LOVE Nas-T. hehe

after watching this, I realize that Brian and Jo Kwon is the true diva in k-pop.

Even people said they hate/annoyed by his 'kkab' attitude, well you guys just have to watch strong heart. I change my perception on him after watching it. He got his reason to act ridiculous and you cannot lie that it is actually funny :P

I also recommend you guys to watch wgm horror special. I fall head over heel for him in that episode. He is not typical idol star that 'act' to catch attention instead, he does what he wanted to on variety.

U-Kiss always improve time by time. I'm not gonna touch about the ex or new member (though I think my bias right now is AJ) I just wanna say I am proud to be a kiss me. They used to always give me feeling that they are gay when they do live. I'm sorry but really, I maybe like manmanhani, bingeul bingeul, mworago and not young but it is always awkward for me to watch them in front of my family. I didn't feel proud of them.

When they released shut up! I have some confidence in them. They don't shout 'I'm Gay!'(though the MV is quite....) and I can watch them in suit freely.

It's quite impressive how I have memorise all of ze:a's name and I know them better than half of other k-pop stan. I swear I didn't wish to like them. Aqilah who is a rookie fangirl (which means she will give her attention to almost all rookies) love ze:a first and I was like ze:a nuguuuu? until one day I watch mazeltov at hot k-pop clips and the song is so good!

I was caught off guard by minwoo in this video and he naturally became my first ever bias.

4th November 2009,

all my friend went to school camp but I choose not to go and spent the evening boringly in front of my pc when I suddenly found this newly release video and I had an eargasm. It was Friday somewhere around May 2009, I was watching Geng Bas Sekolah where there is this one group name geng lollipop. I know that Big Bang has a song title 'Lollipop' so I searched for it on YouTube. Dara's high-pitch voice surprise me so much that I straightaway post the video on my blog(I've delete it. Trust me, I regret it so much now).

Something about the clothes they wear and the variety of voices in the song caught me off guard. I was 12 at that time, and I was trying real hard to be different from my other peers and that's why I choose to jam on this song rather than Britney Spears' Circus. It is funny how this song that made me a fan back then and now this song is for me the worst Big Bang song they ever recorded.

I only know Big Bang and Wondergirl back then. I always search for Big Bang's english subbed video on youtube and will laugh alone in front of my pc and told my sister about anything that I find funny afterward and she was very annoyed because she doesn't understand a thing I said. I'm finally free from the exam!!! yay! It has been a tough 2 days for me. lol. I don't set high expectation for my result just 8A and semua 90+. keke. Okay now that's cocky. no, piqa no you can't be.

I was a bit sad after knowing the fact that I don't get 100 for my science. Never mind piqa,there will always be next exam.(which means there will be like 3-5 more chapters being added on. It was pretty good. Average Malay movies I gotta say. Kamal Adli is a fine actor. He makes both of the character seems real but there is this one part where both twins decide to 'change role' for a while, he didn't make that scene you know, believable. Intan Ladyana did not leave much impact to me. It such a shame because she did quite well in 'Seribu Kali Cinta' ....or not *kanye shrug*

I thought it was going to be as funny as 'Where Got Ghost' turn out to be it is even more scarier. Maybe because it a malay movie. trust me you will get more chill if you watch own race/country ghost movie. because it is more real(?) at first idek who the is cast member for the film. 15 minutes after the film start, Baki entered and I was like XDDDDDDDDDDDD heck yeah Baki is one of my favourite 8tv's host. His acting can sometime be enjoyable but if he overdo it, it will look quite annoying like how he just did in some scene.

I gotta say SAH. because at least my money worth all the scream and laugh which I know I can't been doing at my own house. KS on the other hand for me is just like a cerekarama on tv3. Movie that you will watch late at night to spend your weekend.

I'm 14 now. means I'm currently in form 2. It's my last 'free' year. T.T I so don't want to grow up. Exam is just around the corner but I'm still busy with Big Bang's comeback. Believe it or not, I finally got the chance to witness Big Bang's comeback myself! I've been a VIP for just 2 years. Blackjack for 1 and half year. and other YG-stan (Lucky se7en, PSYcho, Gummy bear, Hip Hop village, Crown family, etc) for half year. I use to like everything Kpop serves me, but nowaday I'm more picky in choosing my bias. I also don't waste my time by listening to EVERY songs kpop throw at me.

Maybe that’s the reason but on this album on the Intro, it said, “I may be short, but my girlfriend is tall,” and that really stood out. It seemed like you don’t really talk a lot about the things that’s been going on in your life and you just say, “oh, it’s just like that,” and that’s how you finish it off.
GD: Well, it wrapped up quite well for me. When I debuted, I was a lot younger than I am now, and it never crossed my mind that the way I’m presented in front of people was hazy. But when my solo album came out, people began judging me. I got hurt a lot, and day by day, I was afraid to wake up from my sleep. When I wake up, another problem would occur, and then another problem would occur. Because of that, I think I got really messed up.

Then how did you overcome it?
GD: It was time. Time passed, and I’m a pop singer. No matter how I went about it, I believe it was my responsibility to do something that the popular culture will be able to take in, but if failed to do that then I guess it would be my fault. I also thought, what’s the point of talking about everything one by one. I’ll tell them by making great music, or writing to them and no matter how many options I came up, it still wouldn’t solve how I feel so I decided to stay quiet. So during that time, I decided to do my best in the things that I was responsible for and tried my best to leave a good impression for the people. Now, I can see a lot more people rooting for me. I think that’s how I was overcome it.

Does this dramatic change have an affect on music? On this album, “Baby Good Night” is a style of song that you’ve never had before.
GD: That’s true. The ability to break out of the norm was surprising to me. On the other hand, if I decide to stay within the norm, I would be making the same kind of music everyday. It can be a problem among idols or it can just be an unsolved homework but when you keep releasing albums continuously, I think those problems just come up naturally.

When Flo-Rida participated in Heartbreaker Part II, this thought came into my head while I was listening. The sound in part 2 was more understandable than the first and the new rhymes fit well with the new flow. I think if the original came out like Part 2, it would’ve been awesome.
GD: Maybe it was because of the accusation, but when Flo-Rida participated in part 2, people started tying the plagiarism and this project together, when I wasn’t going for that at all. I just wanted to show people that American singers and Korean singers can come together in one track and rap within it and not show a lack of confidence, but because so many people were so focused on what happened before, whether it’s good or bad comments, the song didn’t receive a lot of attention which I was kind of disappointed in.

The rap in part 2 was very insightful. The flow of the rap was short and the rap fit well within every sound and GD’s short part was perfect within the track.
GD: It was just fast rap. (Laughs) When I was doing activities for my solo album, I thought about a lot of things because it was the title track of the album and in part 2, before Flo-Rida’s rap came on, I thought I should show everything within that part and so I tried many different things and only put in what I felt was strong.

A controversy arose earlier this month when YG Entertainment announced that their artists would not be participating in KBS’s “Gayo Festival“. In response to the flurry of questions over his decision, YGE’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, recently spoke out to clarify on the issue.

He expressed, “I believe that there is a difference in thought between KBS and YGE. We’ve decided not to have our artists attend the ceremony because we simply do not agree with the awards’ standards. We are adverse with relying on ARS texting votes, broadcast points, and live votes to determine results. Unfortunately, since KBS will utilize those methods, it led us to our decision not to attend.”

He continued, “Just like how all broadcast programs only invite artists that they want on the show, decisions made by entertainment companies are autonomous as well. We hope that people don’t exaggerate a program appearance decision between two companies to be indicative of a conflict.”

Unlike MBC and SBS, who both got rid of the awards component of their ceremonies due to controversies on standards, KBS will be awarding one artist/team a popularity award through polls and votes.

I don't fancy this much. Why? I don't know, something lack from this stage. The focus is too much for Hyunseung and Kigwang for me I think did not get even half camera time. The song either lack something.
